On December 3, 2021, the "Kunpeng Hui" ecosystem series event—focused on "Technology-Capital Matchmaking"—organized by Yuanhe Chencun and co-organized by Huaxing Yuanchuang, was held as an online conference.
On December 3, 2021, the "Kunpeng Hui" ecosystem series event—specifically the "Technology-Capital Matchmaking Session"—was held online, hosted by Yuanhe Chencun and co-organized by Huaxing Yuanchuang. The event featured a special lineup of four distinguished guests: Mr. Chen Wenyuan, Chairman of Huaxing Yuanchuang; Professor Sun Lingning, Director of the Robotics and Microsystems Research Center at Soochow University, Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and an expert in robotics and MEMS; Mr. Cheng Gong, Partner at Qiancheng Capital; and Ms. Feng Yao, Executive Director at Yunqi Capital. Together, these experts explored future industry developments and investment opportunities in the industrial internet and broader industrial internet sectors from the perspectives of industry, investment, and research.
Mr. Chen Wenyuan, Chairman of Huaxing Yuanchuang, shared insights on the development and investment opportunities within the industrial internet industry. He highlighted that the rise of the industrial internet platform economy has evolved from standalone, specialized software and services toward a deeply integrated "toolbox" approach—and is now advancing further through data-driven innovation, knowledge accumulation, and continuous development, ultimately fostering the growth of both bilateral and multilateral markets. In the first half of 2021, the industrial internet sector witnessed 175 non-listed financing deals, representing a 24.1% year-on-year increase. The total disclosed funding exceeded 34 billion yuan, with the average deal size surging by 87.5% compared to the same period last year. Notably, the industrial internet platform segment continued to dominate as the area attracting the most robust capital inflows. Looking ahead, the industrial internet industry is poised to transition from a phase of rapid, "large-scale and comprehensive" expansion into a more pragmatic era focused on "small but refined" growth. As companies in the same niche sector progress through different stages of development, their needs will also evolve accordingly. Consequently, a tailored product supply model—offering highly targeted solutions that align with specific requirements and support phased upgrades—will become the industry standard.
Professor Sun Lining, Director of the Robotics and Microsystem Research Center and Dean of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Soochow University, delivered a presentation titled "Technology Roadmap for the Robotics and Sensor Industries." Focusing on the nation's strategic needs in areas such as new infrastructure, Made in China 2025, monitoring major public health events, and advancing medical care and wellness, he highlighted that micro- and nanodevices and systems are pivotal technologies driving smart manufacturing and intelligent living. He noted that domestic companies have significantly strengthened their innovation capabilities, fostering a robust R&D ecosystem spanning design, manufacturing, packaging, testing, and product development—alongside thriving industry applications. However, challenges remain, including weak foundational research, insufficient original innovation, inadequate collaboration between academia, industry, and research institutions, a shortage of comprehensive, cutting-edge core technologies, and high reliance on foreign suppliers for advanced MEMS devices. To address these issues, greater emphasis must be placed on the pioneering and innovative potential of individual technologies. Looking ahead, MEMS technology is poised to evolve toward miniaturization, integration, multi-functionality, digitalization, and networking. Meanwhile, the convergence of robotics, micro- and nanotechnology, information technology, and artificial intelligence is set to revolutionize both production processes and daily life, ultimately giving rise to transformative industrial opportunities.
Wang Qi, Deputy Director of the Economic Development Committee of Suzhou Industrial Park, introduced to the attendees Suzhou Industrial Park's practical initiatives and relevant policies aimed at advancing the development of the industrial internet. Since 2021, the park has launched the Industrial Internet "Partner Program," which is dedicated to driving smart transformation and digitalization efforts. This initiative connects manufacturing enterprises eager—or well-positioned—to undertake intelligent upgrades and digital transformations, along with a wide range of industrial internet and smart manufacturing service providers, government departments, industry associations, financial institutions, and research & development organizations, collectively forming an ecosystem for the industrial internet. Together, these stakeholders are working collaboratively to foster the growth of Suzhou's industrial internet sector.
Mr. Chenggong, Partner at Qiancheng Capital, shared insightful perspectives from a capital standpoint on the development and investment opportunities within the industrial internet industry. He noted that, following the natural progression of technological adoption—ToG → To Industry → To Commerce → Consumer—the demand for cutting-edge technology gradually softens, while expectations around product functionality, aesthetics, and cost efficiency steadily rise. When discussing why investing in industrial transformation and upgrading makes sense, Mr. Chenggong emphasized that industries are inherently more receptive to new technologies, willing to pay for innovative solutions, and often operate in relatively straightforward scenarios where new tech can be easily implemented. This unique combination positions the industrial sector as the ideal launchpad for commercializing mature technologies. At Qiancheng Capital, our investment strategy begins by backing foundational industrial-tech infrastructure—precisely because this space is still in its early stages. From there, we carefully map out the trajectory of technological evolution, aligning with industry growth phases and key value chains, all while actively seeking out exceptional entrepreneurial teams capable of building robust industry and data barriers that set them apart in the market.
Ms. Feng Yao, Executive Director at Yunqi Capital, shared her insights on the development and investment opportunities in the industrial internet sector. In recent years, macroeconomic policies have increasingly driven growth in the industrial internet space, fostering improvements in supply-side efficiency and propelling the digital transformation of numerous traditional industries. As industry players continue to build strong foundations, they are poised for rapid expansion once they reach a critical tipping point. Looking ahead, the industrial internet is set to evolve toward greater diversification and intelligent manufacturing. Key areas such as cloud-based factories, push-pull supply chains, B2C-BC integration, routers, flexible smart manufacturing, and big data all hold significant potential for future growth. Moreover, the industrial internet and the broader industrial internet ecosystem are expected to deepen their integration, creating even more opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the years to come.
This "Industry Salon" also brought together representatives from Suzhou Industrial Park's Economic Development Commission, the Science & Technology Innovation Commission of Suzhou Industrial Park, park-based technology companies, and industry leaders like Hengtai Group, along with prominent investment firms such as Yuanhe Holding, Jiaqiao Capital, GSR Ventures, Yuanhe Zhongyuan, WaNiu Capital, Yinghao Capital, Qianhui Zhitou, Taiyue Capital, Xinxin Capital, and Chidao Capital. Additionally, over 50 leading enterprises from the industrial internet and industry-specific internet sectors participated online, including names like Qianji Intelligence, Mike Network, SuYingVision, CAS Fusion, HaoChen Software, Beiren Robotics, Huibo Robotics, MuNiuLiuMa Robotics, Guangge Equipment, Lingchuang Electronics, and Huiwen Nano.
"Kunpeng Hui" is a high-end industry event crafted by Yuanhe Chencun, designed as a flagship fund ecosystem that brings together LPs, GPs, innovative enterprises, and industry stakeholders. Each session focuses on trending industry sectors and emerging market opportunities, inviting renowned fund investors, corporate executives, and leading industry experts to continuously foster an open knowledge platform for the fund ecosystem itself, a deep-connecting hub between capital providers and industry players, and a vibrant networking space where entrepreneurs and investors can collaborate and build meaningful relationships.
